Measles mop-up jabs to launch

July 12, 2019

A one-off mop-up programme will be launched to provide free measles vaccinations to healthcare workers, airport staff and foreign domestic helpers working in the city, the Centre for Health Protection announced today.

The Department of Health will work closely with both the Hospital Authority and Airport Authority to supply measles shots to healthcare workers and airport staff who are non-immune to measles.

Healthcare workers at private hospitals will also be included in the scheme.

The department has been liaising with consulate offices and organisations on arranging jabs for domestic helpers.

The Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccines to be used in the mop-up were additionally procured by the Government in April.
