The Environmental Protection Department recorded 61 convictions for pollution offences in June.

Eight were for air pollution, six for noise and 40 for illegal waste disposal.

There were also seven under the Public Cleansing & Prevention of Nuisances Regulation.

The heaviest fine was $50,000 against a construction company for using powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
