The Immigration Department today announced that Hong Kong residents who plan to travel abroad during the summer holidays should apply for travel documents early.

The department said it normally takes five working days to process an application for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport, and 10 working days for applicants under 11 years of age.

It added that urgent issue requests for pleasure trips will not be entertained.
