Secretary for Labour & Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong (back row, second left) visits the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre.

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong today visited Tung Chung to take a closer look at welfare services there.

He toured the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre which has been serving residents in Tung Chung and remote areas on Lantau since 2001. In recent years, the centre has also provided services to new public rental housing residents.

Dr Law said the Government has been backing community support network projects for new public rental housing estates through the Community Investment & Inclusion Fund. As of March, the fund had supported 47 projects covering 32 such estates.

He noted in the Islands District, the fund supports seven projects - including the integrated services centre - run by non-governmental organisations.

Before ending his visit, Dr Law met Islands District Councillors to discuss labour and welfare issues as well as matters of local concern.
