HK, Mainland sign cultural pacts

December 18, 2018

Hong Kong today signed agreements with two Mainland museums to foster bilateral cultural exchange and collaboration between Hong Kong and the Mainland.

Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Michelle Li signed a co-operation agreement with National Museum of China Director Wang Chunfa and a letter of intent with Nanjing Museum Director Gong Liang.

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department's pact with the National Museum of China will facilitate experience sharing and training in areas including exhibition planning, research on relics and conservation technology over the next five years.

Meanwhile the department will work with the Nanjing museum to boost cultural collaboration, including organising new exhibitions through co-curation and exhibit loaning, as well as exchanging information on co-organising major exhibitions with foreign museums.

The department will collaborate with the National Museum of China in the coming year to organise an exhibition showcasing China’s modernisation process.
