Employment disclosure views sought

August 10, 2018

The Labour Department today launched a public consultation on the proposal to publish records of conviction, revocation or refusal of licence renewal and written warnings of employment agencies on its Employment Agencies Portal.

The proposal will enhance transparency so that job-seekers, including foreign domestic helpers, and employers can avoid falling prey to unscrupulous employment agencies or those without a valid licence.

The enhanced transparency will also help foster the adoption of good practices by employment agencies and raise the industry’s service standard.

People are invited to submit their views by September 7.
