Teacher retirement plan broached

The Education Bureau is consulting the education sector and stakeholders on a proposal to extend the retirement age for newly joined teachers of aided schools.

 

The retirement age is proposed to be extended from 60 to 65.

 

The consultation will last until September 7.

 

Views will be sought on the target teacher group of the new retirement age policy and the adjustments to the arrangements for government donation to their provident funds.

 

Three consultation sessions will be held on July 4, 9 and 18 at 6.30pm at the Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre.

 

Seats at the sessions can be reserved online on a first-come, first-served basis.
