Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah attended the 19th Greater Pearl River Delta Cultural Co-operation Meeting in Hong Kong today.

About 100 delegates including officials and representatives of arts and cultural authorities in Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macau took part in the meeting.

Mr Lau said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has reserved $140 million to help Hong Kong arts groups and artists undertake cultural exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area in the next five years.

Performers of unconventional Cantonese music, crossover music and jazz will start touring the bay area this autumn.

In the coming year the three sides will continue collaboration in areas such as public libraries, intangible cultural heritage, and cultural and creative industries.
