Clean-air venues lauded

June 13, 2018

More than 1,500 premises in Hong Kong were praised at the Environmental Protection Department's Indoor Air Quality Certification Award Ceremony today.

The ceremony recognised efforts to improve indoor air quality by 1,562 premises, including office buildings, shopping malls and clubhouses.

A total of 318 premises were given an "excellent" indoor air quality rating while 1,244 venues were given a "good" rating.

Deputy Director of Environmental Protection Alice Cheung commended the venues for setting a good example and for helping to raise awareness on indoor air quality.

She added the department will encourage more premises to join the Indoor Air Quality Certification Scheme, and will update Indoor Air Quality objectives to further promote clean indoor air.
