CE to visit Europe

Chief Executive Carrie Lam will visit Belgium, France and Germany from June 14 to 25.

 

In Brussels she will meet senior officials of the European Commission and the Belgian government, attend events to promote Hong Kong and visit cultural facilities.

 

She will then visit Bordeaux, Marseille and Paris to meet senior French officials and members of the French Parliament, and speak at seminars on the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, the Belt & Road Initiative and property technology.

 

She will attend a ceremony to accept helicopters for the Government Flying Service and events on promoting co-operation in tourism.

 

She will also visit innovation and technology industries and cultural facilities.

 

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Edward Yau and Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang will join part of the French visit.

 

In Germany Mrs Lam will attend the opening ceremony of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting 2018 and a session on the promotion of science innovation across different cultures in Lindau.

 

During her absence, Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung will be Acting Chief Executive.
