The Monetary Authority issued alerts today about a fraudulent email claiming to be sent by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation and a bogus website purporting to be linked with Hang Seng Bank.

The phishing email asks recipients to save and open attachments. HSBC said it has no connection with the email and reminded clients not to open it.

Hang Seng Bank also reported to the authority that hangseng-hk.com is a fake website.

Anyone who has provided personal information or conducted financial transactions through the email or website should contact the bank and Police at 2860 5012.
