Chan Yuen-han has been appointed Chairperson of the Women's Commission while four committee members have been reappointed and four new members have been appointed.

The new members are Melaine Lee, Michelle Tang, Sherry Tsai and Viola Wong.

The reappointed incumbent members are Prof Shirley Hung, Angelina Kwan, Scarlett Pong and Dr Loletta So.

The appointments are for a two-year term from January 15.

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong said Chan Yuen-han, having been a veteran Legislative Councillor and District Councillor, has rich experience in the public sector.

He added that under Ms Chan's leadership, the commission will continue its efforts in advancing the interests of women in Hong Kong.

Dr Law thanked outgoing Chairperson Stella Lau and outgoing members Leona Lam, Miranda Leung and Wong Shu-ming for their contribution to the committee's work.
