FAQs

1. How do I subscribe, unsubscribe or re-subscribe to the news-letter services?

Login to your personalised home page by entering your user ID and password. Click on "Update My Profile" in the upper right corner. Type in your existing password and check the e-newsletter service(s) to which you want to subscribe, unsubscribe or re-subscribe. Then click "Update".

2. How can I read the Chinese version of news.gov.hk?

With Chinese Windows installed in your computer, you should be able to read our Chinese version. If English Windows is installed in your computer, you'll need add-on software to enable your computer to display the Chinese version of news.gov.hk. If you use Internet Explorer, you can install the Chinese fonts from Internet Explorer Multilanguage Support. Download them from: http://www.windowsupdate.com

3. Although I have Chinese Windows or the add-on Chinese software or Chinese fonts, I still cannot see certain Chinese characters. Some of them appear as a square and sometimes the lines won't wrap.

You can download and install the Big-5 version of HKSCS reference fonts and input software for displaying the specific Chinese characters used in Hong Kong. You can download the software for HKSCS from:
