Ding Chengyun and Fu Lina

Traditional tone: Renowned musicians Fu Lina and her husband Ding Chengyun will perform three concerts in February playing antique instruments.

*

Renowned musicians Ding Chengyun and his wife Fu Lina will perform three concerts in February playing antique instruments.

Ding will play a qin and Fu a se, the latter lost for more than 1,000 years and only recently rediscovered, bringing a refreshing tone harking back to a millennium ago.

Ding is a famous scholar noted for his virtuosity in playing the qin and zheng. Fu is one of the few musicians who can play a se, who has made long-term efforts in the continuation and development of traditional Chinese music.

The concerts will be held 7.30pm February 27 at Sheung Wan Civic Centre and 2.30pm and 7.30pm the next day in Nan Lian Garden, Diamond Hill.

Tickets are $200 at URBTIX outlets. For enquiries call 2268 7321 or click here.
