CE opens Jao Tsung-i expo

Chief Executive CY Leung opened an exhibition today on Jao Tsung-i's Dunhuang art works.
 
The Heritage Museum will display 115 sets of Prof Jao's publications and artworks inspired by Dunhuang's ancient manuscripts and relics.
 
Prof Jao has studied Dunhuang's archaeological finds since the 1950s and has made significant contributions to the promotion of research and cultural conservation of the site.
 
Presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and the University of Hong Kong, the exhibition is one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
 
Professor Jao, Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah and Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Yang Jian also attended the opening ceremony.
 
The exhibition will run until September 18.
