Music camp enrolment starts

February 24, 2017

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department is inviting applications for the 2017 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp.

Organised by the department’s Music Office, the camp features masterclasses conducted by renowned musicians, along with sharing sessions and workshops.

Participants will perform in two concerts in August to showcase what they have learnt.

Held at Lei Yue Mun Park, the camp is divided into two parts. The first is for the Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Junior Chinese Orchestra. It will be held from July 30 to August 6.

The other is for the Chinese Orchestra, Youth Choir and Junior String Orchestra, which runs from August 6 to 13.

There are 400 places on offer.

Young musicians aged 10 to 25 are welcome to join.

The fee is $1,510 for local participants and $2,180 for non-locals.

Day camps will also be held from Monday to Friday from July 31 to August 11 for people to visit the rehearsals, attend mini-concerts and take part in music games.

Application deadlines are March 30 for the residential camps and May 31 for the day camp.

Application forms for the music camp and day camps are available at the Music Office website.
