Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah opened the Urban Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival tonight to celebrate the Spring Lantern Festival.

The carnival, held at the Cultural Centre Piazza, featured spectacular ethnic songs and dances as well as acrobatic and face-changing performances.

It also included Chinese folk craft demonstrations, symphonic band performances, music performances and a lantern quiz.
