The Smiling Stone exhibition opened at Baptist University's Visual Arts Academy today showing the stories and architectural characteristics of Ping Shek Estate through paintings and sound and art installations.
The exhibition is curated by project team 2Bliss with artists Chan Chun-hing, Cheung Chin-hang and Cecilia Ho.
Built in the 1970s the estate looks ordinary, yet it is filled with an intense sense of community and humanity.
By engaging the community in artwork creation, the artists have uncovered warm and affectionate stories of the estate and recorded its unique culture.
The show is part of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department’s Artists in the Neighbourhood Scheme and will run until November 27.
