The Museum of Art launched the second phase of the Jockey Club "Museum of Art on Wheels" Outreach Learning Programme today to start a series of local outreach activities that will begin on October 11.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, the Under Secretary for Home Affairs Florence Hui said although the Hong Kong Museum of Art is closed for large-scale renovation work, it will continue to engage with schools and the community.

Themed "Hong Kong Sign.Hong Kong Signature", the education art truck will bring art to all corners of the city, as well as seeking out artistic items that are hidden in the community.

Works by famous calligraphers, fun words found in different parts of the city and distinctive artworks by contemporary artists will be showcased, enabling viewers to discover the hybrid culture of Hong Kong and meet young local artists.

10 local artists will host projects online on the Museum of Art on Wheels’ Facebook page and organise workshops.

The second phase of the programme will be held until July 7 next year.
