The opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre will be held at 3pm on June 18.
It will be followed by a fun day entitled "ICH Fun @ Sam Tung Uk" and the public is welcome to join.
Located at the Sam Tung Uk Museum, the centre was established by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department.
The centre aims to enhance the public's understanding of intangible cultural heritage through educational and promotional activities, including exhibitions, lectures, seminars, demonstrations and workshops.
The fun day will offer a wide range of free and interesting activities to visitors, such as demonstrations of Cantonese opera make-up and costumes, sugar figure blowing, the creation of paper crafted Hakka unicorns and the making of steamed sticky rice dumplings.
Visitors can also put on Cantonese opera costumes and take photos at a designated scene.
Meanwhile, the centre's first thematic exhibition "The Oral Legacies - Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong" is now on display.
