Tiu Keng Leng Public Library will fully open on July 9 after its Students' Study Room and the Newspapers & Periodicals Section came into service in March and June.
The new library is located at 4 Chui Ling Road in Tseung Kwan O, with a floor area of 2,900 square metres.
The Adult Library, Children's Library, Extension Activities Room, express check-in service, self-service book borrowing and renewal service, Multimedia Information System, Computer & Information Centre and exhibition area will start operation on that day.
The library has a collection of 160,000 items, including Chinese and English books for adults and children, compact discs and reference books. More than 140 local and overseas newspapers and periodical titles are also available.
It will be open 9am to 8pm Mondays to Wednesdays and Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 8pm Thursdays, and 9am to 5pm Sundays and public holidays.
