Puppet show set for July

June 30, 2015

Award-winning Bunk Puppets from Australia will stage Swamp Juice in July.

Blending shadow puppetry with physical theatre, the show creates a playful adventure set in a swamp.

Bunk Puppets' Jeff Achtem turns bits of rubbish into shadow puppets that include bickering snails, a neurotic snake and an opera-singing mouse. He will also manipulate multiple puppets for the 3D finale.

Audience members are invited to become puppeteers during the show, which features original music played live by Manny Fox.

Swamp Juice is part of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's International Arts Carnival and won the Total Theatre Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011.

It will run from July 16 to 19 at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre and North District Town Hall.

Tickets are available at URBTIX.
