Award-winning oboist Bobby Cheng will stage a recital in July as part of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's "Our Music Talent Series".
To showcase his superb skills, the programme will feature Couperin's Quatrième Concert (from 'Concerts Royaux'), Schumann's Three Romances, Op. 94, Pasculli's Gran Concerto on Themes from Verdi's 'I Vespri Siciliani' and Doráti's Duo Concertante for Oboe and Piano.
Hong Kong-born Mr Cheng is a talented young oboist who started learning the woodwind instrument at the age of eight under Yiu Song-lam's tutelage. He has since received award-winning recognition worldwide. Mr Cheng attained a Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2014 with first-class honours. He is currently studying for a Master of Music degree at France's Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Lyon under Jean-Louis Capezzali and Jérôme Guichard.
The recital will start at 8pm on July 4, at City Hall Theatre.
