Animation expo to close Aug 31

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today reminded animation fanatics they have until the end of the month to see the Studio Ghibli exhibition at the Heritage Museum.

 

It showcases 1,300 original animation layouts from works including Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Grave of the Fireflies, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and The Wind Rises.

 

Visitors can also view layouts from Isao Takahata's the Tale of The Princess Kaguya which is now being screened in Hong Kong.

 

The exhibition has attracted 360,000 people since its May 14 opening.

 

The museum will screen Arrietty on August 21 at 3.30pm, and a performance of film music from Hayao Miyazaki's animations by the Youth Symphonic Band on August 24 at 3pm.

 

Exhibition booklets and souvenirs are also available at the museum’s gift shop during the exhibition period.
