Taiwan troupe to make HK debut

The Tang Mei Yun Taiwanese Opera Company will perform in Hong Kong at the Chinese Opera Festival 2012 in June.It will perform Gezi opera, a vernacular form of theatre that first gained popularity in northeastern Taiwan, and is now popular across the island and the Mainland.
One of the most distinguished Gezi opera troupes in Taiwan, the company will perform The Princess & the Hunter on June 23, and Love on Pregnancy on June 24, at 7.30pm at Kwai Tsing Theatre.
Tickets are $240, $180, $140 and $100 at URBTIX.
