216 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

Police issued 216 fixed penalty tickets and 173 summonses to motorists and pedestrians for violating traffic regulations during the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day.

 

The operation concluded at 11pm yesterday and saw 204 officers enforce traffic laws at accident blackspots in Kowloon East Region. They gave verbal warnings to 271 pedestrians and 202 drivers for minor offences, and issued 260 fixed penalty tickets for illegal parking.

 

There were 667 traffic accidents in Kowloon East Region from January to April this year.
