Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have arrested three men in raids on computer shops offering unlicensed software to customers, seizing 26 computers and 102 pirated software discs worth $140,000.

Shops were raided in Chai Wan, Kwun Tong and Yuen Long yesterday. One with 23 computers with infringing software was found to be charging customers $20 for playing online games for three hours.

Three more computers with infringing software were seized in test purchases by officers posing as customers, resulting in the arrest of the three men aged 21 to 36.
