*
Hong Kong Police

Police are treating as murder the death of taxi driver whose body was found in Sai Kung early this morning.

About 8.20pm yesterday, a woman told Police an empty taxi with its headlights on was parked near the roadside of Sai Sha Road near Yung Shue O Village.

Police officers searched the area and just after midnight found a man with head injuries lying in a bush about 70 meters from the taxi. Ambulancemen certified him dead at the scene.

The body was confirmed to be that of the 47-year-old taxi driver. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of his death.

The Kowloon East Regional Crime Unit is investigating. Anyone who may have seen the taxi parked at Sai Sha Road from 10am to 8pm on Wednesday, or who has any information, is urged to contact investigating officers on 2767 1472 or 2767 1473.
