Police arrested 91 drivers for drink driving in a city-wide road-safety campaign that ran from December 16 to January 2.
Officers visited bar and restaurant areas and distributed about 36,700 leaflets reminding motorists not to drive after drinking. During the campaign, 519 people were invited to take voluntary breath tests.
Drink-driving offenders are liable to a maximum fine of $25,000 and three years' imprisonment and penalised 10 driving-offence points. They may even be disqualified from driving.
Police will hold another road-safety campaign during Chinese Lunar New Year.
