242 tickets issued in traffic day blitz

Police issued 242 fixed-penalty tickets and 189 summonses to motorists and pedestrians violating traffic regulations during the Kowloon east regional traffic day.

 

The operation, concluding 11pm yesterday, saw 226 officers enforce traffic laws at accident blackspots in the region. They gave verbal warnings to 174 pedestrians and drivers for jaywalking and other minor offences, and issued 98 fixed-penalty tickets for illegal parking and other misdemeanors.

 

There were 2,060 traffic accidents in Kowloon east from January to November.
