Man arrested for fatal accident

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for dangerous driving causing death after an accident in Cheung Sha Wan in which an 84-year-old woman died.

 

At about 9.45am today, a private car travelling along Tai Po Road reportedly knocked down the woman near the old North Kowloon Magistracies' Courts. 

 

The woman was sent to the Caritas Medical Centre with head injuries and was certified dead at 10.04am. 

 

The 23-year-old private car driver is being detained. Investigations are underway.
