6 arrested in forged Olympic goods seizure

Customs & Excise Department

Customs have seized 350 pieces of counterfeit Olympic goods, worth about $7,000 and arrested three men and three women aged 40 to 60.

 

Officers raided seven retail outlets in Wan Chai, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok. The seized products include key rings, watches, caps, badges and stickers, most bearing a forged Beijing 2008 Olympic Games trademark.

 

The goods were of low quality and priced at about half that of genuine goods sold through official channels.
