Mainland woman jailed for false marriage
*
Immigration Department

A Mainland woman involved in a false marriage has been jailed by Sha Tin Magistracy for 16 months.

Cui Fengqi, 22, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud and two counts of making false representation.

Arrested in March during an anti-vice operation, Cui admitted that she entered into a false marriage with a Hong Kong resident in last April to acquire a 90-day visit endorsement to find work in Hong Kong.

Cui then made visits to Hong Kong, falsely declaring to immigration officers that she came to visit her resident husband. She also admitted she had been working as a prostitute in Hong Kong since last June.
