37 building plans approved

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 37 building plans and issued 10 occupation permits in April. Of the approved plans, 14 are on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 17 in the New Territories.

 

Thirteen were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, three commercial, five factory and industrial, and 16 community services.

 

In the same month, the department gave consent for work to start on 11 building projects that, when completed, will provide 87,673 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,034 units, and 16,817 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department has received notification of the start of work for nine building projects.

 

Occupation permits

Of the 10 occupation permits issued, one is on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

 

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use was 83,045 square metres, involving 851 units, and 48,060 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in April totalled $1.9 billion.

 

Meanwhile, six demolition consents involving six building structures were issued.

 

The department received 2,017 complaints against unauthorised building works and issued 4,042 removal orders on unauthorised works.
