Hong Kong International Airport will appoint more than 100 airport ambassadors and security personnel combined with other initiatives to facilitate the implementation of new security measures from March 21.

The Airport Authority today said tables will be set up at each check-in aisle in Terminals 1 and 2 for passengers who need to repack their bags.

Regular announcements will be made in the terminals while signs and video messages are to be displayed. Explanatory leaflets will also be distributed.

Introduced by the Civil Aviation Department, the measures require all liquids, gels and aerosols in hand baggage to be stored in containers of 100 ml or less and be packed in one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one litre. Each passenger can carry only one such plastic bag.
