A host of antiques from Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware have gone on display at the Royal Museum of Mariemont in Belgium.
The exhibition opened yesterday as part of the Europalia.China 2009 Festival.
Featuring 63 refined artefacts from the museum's KS Lo Collection, the exhibition will run until February 21. It documents the changes and developments in tea-making and decorating tea ware in Chinese culture.
Besides the great variety of forms and glazes applied to ewers and tea bowls of the Tang and Song Dynasties, the display also features Ming Dynasty refined teapots, the Qing Dynasty's exquisite covered bowls, and different styles of tea ware designated for export.
In July last year, Belgium's Ministry of Culture invited Hong Kong to take part in the festival. Europalia is an important multi-disciplinary cultural festival held in Europe every two years, dedicated to introducing one major city or nation and its historical and cultural diversity.
