A welcome-home ceremony has been held in honour of Hong Kong's athletes at the Cultural Centre for their good results in the 11th National Games.
Hong Kong won seven medals - two gold, one silver and four bronze - the city's highest for the games.
Speaking at the ceremony today, Secretary for Home Affairs and delegation head Tsang Tak-sing said competing against top athletes from other provinces and cities, Hong Kong's achievement was remarkable and set a good example for the city's youths.
Wong Kam-po, Patrick Lam, Chan Chun-hing, Alex Hunter, Daniel Lee and Kenneth Cheng won medals in the cycling, equestrian and triathlon events. The equestrian team of Patrick Lam, Samantha Lam, Kenneth Cheng and Jacqueline Lai won another medal in the jumping team event.
Eight athletes broke Hong Kong records in swimming events - the men's 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 4x100m medley relay and 4x100m athletics relay.
Hong Kong athletes were also among the top eight best performers in the athletics, badminton, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, hockey, windsurfing, swimming, wushu (taolu), tennis and table-tennis events.
The city won a gold medal in the 8th National Games, and two gold, two silver and one bronze in the 9th National Games. The Hong Kong team took a gold and three bronze medals at the 10th National Games.
