The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department will introduce light refreshment and bakery stalls, and service trade stalls, in six public markets through open auctions next month.
Light refreshment and bakery stalls will be introduced in Yee On Street (two stalls) and Lei Yue Mun Markets (two stalls) in Kwun Tong, and Tai Po's Plover Cove Road Market (four stalls).
Service trade stalls will be introduced in Aldrich Bay (four stalls) and Sai Wan Ho Markets (eight stalls) in Eastern District, Luen Wo Hui Market (17 stalls) in North District and Tai Po's Plover Cove Road Market (four stalls).
Light refreshment and bakery stalls sell local snacks like fishballs, beef offal, fried beancurd and peppers stuffed with minced fish, and egg-shaped waffles, confectionery, cakes and biscuits.
Permitted service trades include domestic services agencies, beauty, manicure and massage parlours, Chinese medicine practitioners, bone-setters' clinics, estate agencies and computer-related services.
The upset prices for light refreshment and bakery stalls range from $2,200 to $6,500 and from $1,100 to $9,300 for service trade stalls.
