No plan to postpone healthcare reform work
*

Secretary for Food & Health Dr York Chow says the Government has no plan to postpone its work on healthcare reform and financing.

Speaking to reporters today Dr Chow said about 70% of people want the Government to continue its work on the reform.

"We will continue to do our work. Regarding the exact date of the launch of the consultation, we have to see which is the most appropriate date by that time. We would not like to postpone it unless there is some pressing situation. We will not make that decision right now."

Dr Chow felt sorry for Police failing to recover the missing baby's body in the recent search in Tseung Kwan O landfill, and has apologised to the baby's parents.

"I would also like the Hospital Authority to help the Police investigate the real facts of this case and also the people responsible. I think the Police is still looking for clues and doing some of the statements of the affected staff of the Hospital Authority."
