21 ill in gastroenteritis outbreak

*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an acute gastroenteritis outbreak involving 21 toddlers, aged from three to 22 months, at a Mong Kok day nursery.

Eight boys and 13 girls developed gastroenteritis symptoms from October 15 to 18. Sixteen consulted private doctors or outpatient clinics. Four were admitted to hospitals. All are stable.

The centre has visited the institution and provided health advice to the management. It will monitor the facility.
