Welfare officers ready for post-quake counselling
*
Social Welfare Department

The Social Welfare Department officers and clinical psychologists are ready to provide counselling and other welfare assistance to residents affected by the Sichuan earthquake.

The department said most people are emotionally affected by major natural disasters and the feelings normally diminish with time. However, when the feelings are too intense, lasting more than two weeks, and are seriously affecting a person's normal life, one should consider getting professional help.

People needing help may call the department's hotline 2343 2255 or approach an Integrated Family Service Centre near their home.
