Fees under the Building Management and Hotel & Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinances will be adjusted following a fresh costing exercise.
The fee revision is an annual exercise to achieve full-cost recovery gradually.
All fee items under the building management law will rise 20%, whereas that under the hotel and guesthouse accommodation law will be adjusted through a revision ranging from a 14% fall to a 20% rise.
The two amendment regulations, gazetted today, will be tabled at the Legislative Council June 13 and are expected to take effect November 1.
The exercise showed that the cost recovery rate for most of the fee items under the Building Management (Fees) Regulations are 35% or below, and the current fee levels under the Hotel & Guesthouse Accommodation (Fees) Regulations cover 38% to 117% of the full cost of issue of new licences, and 90% to 104% of that of renewal of licences for hotels and guesthouses.
