Carrie Yau to attend Beijing food meeting
*

Permanent Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Carrie Yau will attend the inaugural meeting of the Steering Group on Safe Food Supply to Hong Kong in Beijing tomorrow.

 

She will discuss issues related to the refinement of the food safety regulatory mechanism with officials of the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection & Quarantine, to ensure food supplied to Hong Kong is safe.

 

Mrs Yau's delegation includes Food & Environmental Hygiene Director Eddy Chan, Centre for Food Safety Controller Dr Mak Sin-ping, Centre for Food Safety Assistant Director Dr Constance Chan, Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Assistant Director Dr Leung Siu-fai, and Health, Welfare & Food Principal Assistant Secretary Wallace Lau.

 

They will return to Hong Kong May 15.
