The Centre for Health Protection is investigating a suspected food poisoning case involving 10 people who ate at a Cheung Chau restaurant on June 17.
The seven men and three women, aged 28 to 45, developed diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting and fever after the lunch. Their symptoms were generally mild. Eight sought treatment from private doctors and none required hospitalisation.
Bacteria is the likely cause, and further investigation is in progress.
The public, especially food handlers, should observe good personal and environmental hygiene to prevent food-borne diseases. For precaution tips click here.
