Amateurs wanting to advance their gardening skills are reminded to enrol from October 10 to 31 for the first course in Sai Kung District under the Community Garden Programme.

The course will start on November 27 in Area 44, Tseung Kwan O (Pui Shing Road near Po Ning Road Health Centre) where participants can learn how to grow plants, fruit and vegetables under expert guidance and then take home the harvest.

The course, with a maximum of 50 participants, will be conducted in Cantonese. Each successful applicant will be allocated a plot of 2.25 square metres on which to practise gardening.

Each course lasts four months. The fee for each course is $400. Successful applicants can bring along four friends or relatives, who do not have to pay the course fee.

Application forms are available at the Sai Kung District Leisure Services Office, 5/F, Sai Kung Government Offices Building, 34 Chan Man Street, Sai Kung.
