31 polluters prosecuted in June

Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department recorded 31 convictions in June.

 

Seventeen were for air pollution, seven for waste disposal, three for noise, two for water pollution, and two under the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance.

 

The heaviest fine was $60,000, meted out to a company which imported controlled waste without a permit.
