    New banknotes go on show

The Monetary Authority today launched an exhibition at the International Finance Centre in Central promoting Hong Kong's new banknotes.

The exhibition, which runs until July 29, features the new $1,000 note which will be launched in the fourth quarter. Visitors can feel the banknote and see its state-of-the-art security features, which will help them identify counterfeits.

The show will move to different locations over the next two months, while student ambassadors will visit major shopping centres to distribute education leaflets.

Education seminars targeting banks, retailers, money changers, visually-impaired people and the elderly will be organised.
