Financial Secretary John Tsang will leave for Australia tonight to attend the 14th Finance Ministers' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation in Coolum, Australia, on August 2 and 3.
During the meeting, Mr Tsang will exchange views with other finance ministers on issues relating to "making private capital markets work better" and "transparency and sustainability of the public balance sheet".
He will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts.
Mr Tsang will attend the Hong Kong Films Reception of the Brisbane International Film Festival in Brisbane on August 3, and meet representatives from business organisations with Hong Kong connections in Sydney on August 4.
He will then fly to Kuala Lumpur to meet senior government finance officials and have discussions with banks and financial investment entities on global and regional financial development, including the subject of Islamic finance.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on August 7.
