Total exports up 11.4% in May

In May, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 13.5% over the same month last year, while that of domestic exports fell 20.7%. Taken together, the volume of total goods exports rose 11.4%. In the month, the volume of goods imports grew 11.5%.

 

The prices of re-exports of goods rose 2.2%, while those of domestic exports grew 0.8%. Taken together, the prices of total exports of goods rose 2.1%. In the month, the prices of imports of goods rose 1.9%.

 

In the first five months of 2007, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 11.7% over the same period last month, while that of domestic exports dropped 27.8%. Taken together, total goods exports volume grew 9.3%. In the same period, the volume of imports of goods rose 10.2%.

 

In the same period, the prices of re-exports of goods soared 2.6%, while those of domestic exports rose 0.5%. Taken together, the prices of total exports of goods grew 2.5%. The prices of imports of goods rose 2.4%.
