Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing has appointed McKinsey & Company and Mallesons Stephen Jaques to study the feasibility of trading commodities derivatives and emissions-related products in Hong Kong.

McKinsey & Company will conduct a study on the trading of commodities derivatives, including energy - such as oil, power and gas, base metals, and agricultural products.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques, with sub-consultants Climate Focus BV and the International Environmental Trading Group, will look at the trading of emissions-related products.

The study will be completed in four months.
